THe Quadrilatère - Beauvais Art Center

Permanent exhibition

The Quadrilatère de Beauvais, a modernist masterpiece designed by André Hermant in 1976, has just reopened after renovation. This bold, all-glass, all-concrete building now houses an art center as well as a Center for the Interpretation of Architecture and Heritage (CIAP), for which Drôle de Trame produced all the audiovisual content.

As soon as they enter, visitors are greeted by a film projected onto a large white model, which clearly and forcefully traces the history of the area, from its origins in Bellova to the present day.

A dozen motion-design films, combining animated archives and graphics, enrich this narrative by exploring the major milestones in local history, Beauvais's rich heritage and its emblematic sites.

Animated films take a light-hearted, humorous approach to deconstructing some of the clichés associated with the town.

In the crypt, where the foundations of an ancient building still stand, a poetic film shows life at the heart of the Gallo-Roman forum. At the end of the tour, a photographic slide show reviews the various archaeological digs carried out on the site.
