Romane, Oscar, Maxime and César have been professional dancers for barely a year. They are 20 years old and have just landed a contract with a company after 4 years at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris, one of the most prestigious dance schools in the world.
I know them well, having already filmed them for 2 years for the series SEULE LA DANSE, broadcast on Arte. The aim of this new documentary is to continue the adventure with them over the coming years. Because in dance, everything happens between the ages of 20 and 25. While the average person has their whole life ahead of them, for a dancer these are the most decisive early years in their career.
They may not yet be in the company of their dreams, but the world of possibilities has opened up for them. Romane has been accepted into the corps de ballet of the Olomuc Opera in the Czech Republic, César has finally managed to enter the junior ballet of Nederlands Dans Theater (NDT), one of the world's most famous contemporary dance companies, Oscar is at the Tallinn Ballet in Estonia and Maxime at the Belgrade Ballet in Serbia.
To continue this adventure with them is to take stock of this unique group of young people who have found the strength of commitment in an unpredictable and ultra-selective career path. 3 years to follow the major stages of their lives, in the strongest moments, as well as the most difficult, with their doubts and failings. But one thing's for sure: they all have one thing in common.
