Designed from the outset to be an accessible experience for everyone, the exhibition traces the evolution of our eating habits throughout history through a playful, pop-inspired display. From the Paleolithic era to space meals, staged plates, immersive experiences, and interviews with chefs reveal what inspires culinary innovation.
All content is available in French Sign Language (LSF) and with audio description. This approach has deeply informed the design of the exhibition’s features.
Drôle de Trame has created numerous interactive installations:
An innovative installation kicks off the visit: a playful immersive projection features a dialogue between two actors—one deaf and one hearing—about culinary inventions that have achieved global success.
Interactive programs: MasterChef, to play alone or with a partner and guess what’s on your cooking partner’s mind; The Egg Innovation Tree, to explore all the possibilities of this essential food and understand its scientific mechanisms. The Pastry Wheel, to discover how to combine indulgence, nutrition, and environmental sustainability, and finally a big quiz to reveal to everyone what kind of eater they are
Interviews with chefs and researchers in biology and cognitive psychology round out the experience by explaining how work on textures, techniques, and ingredients has led to the invention of new recipes.
