Emile Guimet's treasures, exhibition at the Confluences museum, Lyon

The Confluences museum's inaugural exhibition is dedicated to Emile Guimet.

A wealthy industrialist, traveller, collector, musician, he created two museums (the Guimet museum in Lyon and in Paris). He traveled all over the world, built a theater, composed an opera and was at the head of a prosperous company until his death in 1918.

The 20mn film directed by Drôle de Trame for the exhibition offers an implicit portrait of Emile Guimet through the eyes of people like his grandson, his biographer, museums' curators but also those who met him during his lifetime.
